Role Description
This role is responsible for driving the retail channel to the next level of accelerated growth, stewarding the retail team in developing effective sales strategies that drive continuous growth and profitability. This role will be responsible for the leadership and management of the retail team and all sales and business development strategies alongside excellent execution /tactical implementation of short and long-term plans.  

This is primarily a leadership role that will target customers in the field. It is a pivotal position that requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills.  A strong desire and passion to win is a MUST.  Relationships in the grocery industry are key to the success of this role.

  • Develop, initiate and implement commercial strategy to drive Retail Sales Growth
  • Conceptualize and drive commercial sales initiatives
  • Develop and formulate pricing strategies and programs to support growth of our customers to deliver profitable growth.
  • Actively manage and prioritize budgetary spending to ensure effective, tactical deliver for the team.
  • Lead and manage a highly effective sales team
    • Build, lead and motivate a strong committed and collaborative Retail Team
    • Establish strong relationships and communication in all customer buying teams
    • Ensure training needs and personal development plans are developed and actioned
    • Conduct regular business reviews with customers and closely monitor and coach commercial performance and delivery
  • Minimum of 10 years selling experience within the retail channel
  • Proven excellence in driving consistently strong profitable sales growth
  • Capable of working across regional zones in the US
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Significant knowledge of fresh food business and understanding of key drivers and business levers
  • Analytical thinker - ability to problem solve and effectively prioritize
  • Obsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at once
  • Comfortable moving at a fast pace in ambiguous environments
  • Willing to address difficult situations head on with patience and respect
