Analytical (HPLC) Chemist

Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Job Summary: This employee focuses on analytical laboratory activities for specific testing involving HPLC; participation in a variety of analytical/microbiological support activities is required. Work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge related to standard laboratory methods, practices, procedures, policies, regulations, and laboratory materials and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed in this position. Some additional duties may be assigned to this position, as daily issues are frequently unexpected.
HPLC responsibilities: Operates and maintains HPLC units (6)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of laboratory tests and analyses.
Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment.
Knowledge of the methods of food products
Knowledge of Quality Assurance Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Knowledge and use of PPE, adherence to safe laboratory practices.
Ability to handle samples and laboratory equipment.
Ability to make mathematical computations.
Ability to keep records.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to organize and carry out assigned program.
Ability to adapt new technology and methods to enhance program effectiveness.
Possession of an BS degree in the physical sciences or a related field.
At least ten years of experience in a laboratory environment: HPLC and analytical methods experience required.
