Purchasing Supervisor

We’d love for you to help us out:
We are looking for a Purchasing Supervisor to help us conduct various activities to do the following:
  • Procurement of goods and services in support of producing company products.
  • Support the R&D Department in meeting their needs for production.
  • Bring supplier performance up to quality standards and delivery requirements. 
  • Assist in providing new sources of supply as needed.
The Nitty Gritty
  • Maintain purchasing records per the company’s procedures and FDA requirements.
  • Review requisitions to ensure valid requests and meets procedural requirements.
  • Review reports against open/closed POs and reconcile for accuracy.
  • Identify qualified suppliers and negotiate best prices for products/services.
  • Request bids from new suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems and inventory.
  • Provide Production and R&D staff with status reports of material usage as requested.
  • Operate consistently with company’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Assure the smooth flow of materials into and through the facility with close interaction with Suppliers, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure availability of components and materials in order to support production process.
  • Ensure compliance with QSR, (Quality System Regulations) as well as other applicable regulations related to environmental, safety, and health.
  • Review schedules and forecasts and Issue Purchase Order/Requisitions per the SOPs.
  • Enter, expedite and track Purchase Orders with suppliers to insure deliveries, Blanket Orders, Vendor Managed Inventory, etc. are in alignment with production requirements.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Operations in Cosmetic Manufacturing, Food, Paint, Bio-tech or similar industries.
  • An Industry Certification in Procurement Management would be a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Management Software.
