Private Label Retail Sales Mgr (Food Experience Req.)

The position will require the Account Manager to maintain and build sales volume with an assigned portfolio of existing customers, and to work with Retail Sales manager and VP of Sales to add sales to new retail accounts. Requirements will include building relationships with key personnel – including category managers, purchasing managers, R&D and QA departments; as well as using technical savvy, and creativity to surpass annual budget and margin goals.
This position is based at the CA Facility, or within a home office.  As part of the Retail Sales team, this position will require working with major retailers in the US to provide technical and service support on sales of specialty grains in retail private brands

Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers. Grow sales and develop new accounts.
Sell based on value and solutions.
Manage a sales budget of accounts and effectively influence cost control, planning, scheduling and procedural change.
Work alongside others or independently to complete projects. Prospect and close new accounts; maintain, service and grow existing customers. ​
Monitor credit terms and assist with collections as required.
Work independently with technical and purchasing functions of retailers as well as broker partners.
Communicate with purchasing and logistics functions of customer companies to 
create accurate forecasts. ​
Strong planning, scheduling and organizational skills. Ability to find and work to remove roadblocks.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business or other related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in business sales role, along with a track record of success in positions held.  Knowledge of retail sales and category management is strongly preferred.
Minimum five years direct experience in field sales required in food ingredients (grains preferred) or a closely related industry is required.  Category management and category analysis experience is required.
Travel:  10-20%.
